When the pandemic hit in 2020, I knew that I would not survive without CrossFit and my community in my life. So, I scoured every back in stock notification for equipment to turn my garage into a box. I then reached out to as many members as I could to join me in some outdoor driveway fitness. Over the course of that last 2 years this has made me realize that I love bringing people together to have fun, grind through a workout and help them make the best version of themselves.

ABOUT KRISTINE
I took a circuitous path to CrossFit. I began working as a group fitness instructor for a core strength class in 2012 and shortly after became a personal trainer focused on small group HIIT. In early 2017, after receiving word that our gym was closing, I began looking for a new home for myself and my small group members. A local CrossFit welcomed us in and created a conditioning class to meet our needs and offer to their existing members. I coached the conditioning class for a few months and did the workout by myself after class in the corner while the CrossFit class was taking place. It wasn’t long before working out by myself got very stale and I decided to give CrossFit a try. For years I had believed the many misconceptions about CrossFit, such as everyone had to lift the same weight and do the exact same exercises including incredibly complex lifts and gymnastics, and had very little interest. Within my first class I realized how wrong I’d been. The coach provided excellent guidance and scaling options to meet my abilities, and the experienced CrossFitters were incredibly helpful, encouraging and supportive. Within weeks I went to get my L1 and eventually began coaching. I’ve always loved helping people at any stage of their fitness journey move well and make progress towards their goals. I find it incredibly rewarding to show those that are new to CrossFit, or even exercise, what they’re capable of. It’s an added bonus to have such a tight knit community cheering everyone on, including me.

ABOUT MARIBETH
I decided to become a coach in 2014 as I wanted to appeal to those who thought they were too old to try it. In becoming a CrossFit coach, they talk quite a bit about the sickness, wellness, fitness continuum and how fitness is a measure of your health that can hedge you against sickness. This became very clear as I traveled to Philadelphia for major back surgery for a rare spinal chord cyst that had disintegrated my sacrum, broke my tailbone into 9 pieces, left me with bulging discs in L5, 4 and 3, and permanent nerve damage. The neurosurgeon, one of three that perform this surgery in the country made it clear that it was my fitness level that had saved me as I was full of spinal fluid when he opened me up. The ICU nurses echoed the same sentiment as I spent 10 days with them. I have also recovered way beyond their expectations, a lot of this has to do with CrossFit and my approach to health, fitness and nutrition. The community aspect of CrossFit and the encouragement and support you find is another piece of that health puzzle. What you learn is that everyone has a story, this is just part of mine.
What I love about coaching is helping others embrace health and their potential. Celebrating what your body can do and living each day with Joy.

ABOUT PAIGE
I got into CrossFit because when working on my own only following bodybuilding programs wasn’t enough for me, I needed more instruction and accountability in my workouts. And growing up playing team sports, I missed the camaraderie and wanted that type of energy in a workout. My friend had convinced me to try a “Quick Fit” class, which teaches the fundamentals of CrossFit. There I met my fellow Coach, Kristine! She pushed me hard in those classes and I loved the energy she had. So, I started doing the “Sweat” classes she coached which as well ultimately led me to CrossFit. Now, I can’t imagine my life without a barbell! In High School and College, I coached youth basketball. It was always something I loved to do. I became a coach because I knew I wanted to help athletes understand the fundamental functions of CrossFit, how it relates to everyday life and ultimately help people become stronger, both physically and mentally. CrossFit has been such a light in my life these past few years and I want to share that with others. What I love most about coaching is seeing progress in the athletes. It can be as large as a barbell PR to just getting more depth in an air squat, being a part of the process is fulfilling. I’ve had so many incredible coaches these past few years that I have learned so much from and I want to be able to pass on that knowledge.

ABOUT MIKAYLA
Throughout school I played team sports and went to the local globo-gym to stay in shape. But when I went to the gym or any of the classes they offered I felt lost and uninspired. I wanted something more exciting. I found that with CrossFit. CrossFit has constantly varied movements and workouts, so I was never bored or dreaded going to the gym.
After a year of CrossFitting I knew I wanted to expand my knowledge and become a coach. I took the Level 1 course and began coaching in 2015. I love it. It is such a great feeling to help people better themselves, both physically and mentally.
Taking that first CrossFit class has truly changed my life. I have met the most incredible people, made best friends, and met my fiancé. It truly is an amazing community that I am so proud and happy to be a part of.

capabilities – everyone here wants to see one another succeed, which is ultimately why I decided to begin coaching. I want others to be able to experience their own successes and constantly strive to become a better version of themselves. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing an athlete hit a PR; big or small. Put in the work and you’d be amazed at what you can accomplish – and the coaches and athletes here at PR are here to support you along the way!

My CrossFit journey started in 2012 when I decided to take advantage of a Groupon to try it out! I was extremely nervous walking in, but I was instantly hooked! The loud music, the intensity, and the feeling once your done is like no other! It was my new home for fitness and has kept me coming back for more all these years later.
Around 2016 my CrossFit box at the time had a shift in owner ship and presented me with the opportunity to start coaching if I was interested. I thought it would be such an amazing opportunity to help guide and motivate people the way I had been through my journey in CrossFit. I took my L-1 and was immediately thrilled to teach everyone how to do a proper air squat. Coaching has been such an incredible piece of my life. It’s so fulfilling to be able to help athletes discover and reach their potential! There is nothing like witnessing an athlete achieve something they never thought possible at every level of fitness.
I am a homeschool momma who has recently discovered my love of working with children! I am so excited to start our CrossFit Kids program and help children build confidence and a true love for fitness at an early age!
CrossFit has brought so much to my life it is immeasurable! I have met the most amazing people and have truly built a family within this community! That is the incredible part about it, you don’t only get an amazing fitness routine but an unbelievable community supporting and cheering you on the entire way! I am so grateful to be part of PR CrossFit and so excited for all the goals that will be smashed here!!
